
H.E. Nangzhig Kyabgon Rinpoche, (Kalsang Lodro Gyaltso) was born in Amdo, Tibet in 1983. There are six major Zhang Zhung family lineages in the Tibetan Bön tradition, and his father, Namkha Loden, was the lineage holder of the well known and respected Nangzhig family. The Nangzhig ancestry is from the gNen family lineage and dates back over 1000 years.
H.E. Nangzhig Kyabgon Rinpoche took his monk's vows when he was six years old, from his main teacher Jawob Tenzing Wangyal Rinpoche and four others masters. At the same time, the year of the Earth Dragon, he became the leader of Nangzhig Monastery, Amdo, Tibet. Many thousands of monks and lay people from all over Tibet attended the initiation ceremony.

H.E. Nangzhig Kyabgon, received all the YungDrung Bön philosophy teachings of Sutra, Tantra and Dzogchen, transmissions and empowerments, from Venerable Jawob Rinpoche and other YungDrung Bön Masters.
The Buddhist University in Beijing, founded by the 8th Penchen Lama, honored H.E. Nangzhig Kyabgon by inviting him to attend special teachings for three years.

He is very active and busy as the Abbott of Nangzhig Monastery, giving teachings, blessings and guiding the many monks and lay people of the Amdo region. Recently, H.H. Menri Trizen visited Nangzhig Monastery and H.E. Nangzhig Kyabgon.
